If you'd prefer a planned day out with an experienced fisherman then why not try Bruachan Field Sports based at Kilmartin.

Pierre Godts and his wife Cecilia have been in the Kilmartin area for some years now and offer fishing trips in the Mid-Argyll area.

The Argyll area is rich in wildlife and is a great place to spend a break fishing for Salmon and Brown Trout amidst spectacular scenery.

As an experienced fly-fisherman, Pierre can advise and guide you to the numerous remote hill-lochs. Well worth booking a day out with Pierre if you don't know the area well.

Loch Awe
Most Scottish lochs support brown trout and have done so for many years. These lochs also support rainbow trout which have been introduced or have escaped from fish farms. These trout  range in size from 3/4 lb. - 2 1/2 lb but not forgetting the much sought after bigger fish which do exist in most of these Scottish lochs.

Ferox Trout
Such fish have grown over a period of years having had no contact with humans apart from the hardiest of Scottish and visiting anglers. The walks to lochs which are available in Argyll are well worth the physical effort enabling you to explore off the beaten track and enjoy the beautiful scenery which Scotland offers in abundance.

Argyll Hotel presents Sea Fishing

Sea fishing
Ardrishaig pier has always been a favourite spot for spinning for mackerel. Being there at the correct time could mean a good catch. The mackerel chase the fry up Loch Fyne and into Lochgilp. You can often spot the terns and sea gulls diving for the fry as the mackerel work themselves into a frenzy. Sea trout can also be caught at the mouths of certain burns and rivers on an incoming tide at certain times of the year.
